Join us for the 2025 Josephine County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event, hosted by Southern Oregon Sanitation. This free event offers residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of household hazardous materials, protecting both your home and the environment.
What is Collected?
- Cleaning supplies (window cleaners, drain cleaner, bathroom cleaner and any products containing bleach or ammonia)
- Pesticides, insecticides, weed killers
- Paint removers
- Old or toxic wood preservatives
- Swimming pool chemicals
- Fluorescent light ballasts and bulbs
- Alkaline and rechargeable batteries
- Thermostats containing mercury
What is NOT Collected?
- No Paint – Please visit PaintCare, Inc. to find a drop-off event location
- No Explosives or ammunition
- No medical or biological waste
- No asbestos
- No 55-gallon drums
- No radioactive materials
- No waste in containers larger than 5-gallons
Safety Notice for Household Hazardous Waste Event
For everyone’s safety, please keep materials in labeled containers, securely closed, and place them in a box in the trunk or bed of your vehicle. Do not mix products. This is a drive-through only event—please remain in your vehicle at all times. Our trained staff will safely unload the materials for you. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and efficient event!
